Based out of Florence, Massachusetts, the Johnny Memphis Band plays roots rock ‘n’ roll infused with country, soul, bluegrass, Celtic, swing and blues. Their sound weaves banjo and fiddle with electric guitar, bass and drums. Bandleader Johnny Memphis plays bass and mandolin alongside fiddler Katherine First (Kitchen Party), banjoist Laurie Rozenfeld (The Rogues), guitarist Paul Hartshorne (DeMilos), and drummer Jason Smith (Fancy Trash).
The band’s three albums include unforgettable songs like “Murphy Bed,” “Wabi Sabi Baby,” “Running Late,” “Never Been to Memphis,” “Old New York Hotel,” “Every Other Day at a Time” and “Some Other Boyfriend.”
Over the years the Johnny Memphis Band has played at many venues including the Iron Horse Music Hall, the Parlor Room, the Green River Festival, the Florence Summer Concert Series and Flo Ho Ho.
